Improving the Quality of Life for Lake Park

Michael Hensley was born in Palm Beach County, Florida and has spent most of his life in Lake Park. A high school graduate of the Palm Beach County School District, Michael has a Bachelor of Science of Business Administration from Palm Beach State College and a Masters of Education and Leadership from American College of Education. Michael and his wife have lived in Lake Park for 17+ years and are the proud parents of two children, ages thirteen and five. Michael has a background in leadership, community involvement, a non-profit founder and public school education, including 9 years with the Palm Beach County School District. He was named 2021 Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the year, Dwyer Award 2022 Nominee, and annual National School and Safety attendee.

After looking for ways to become more involved in the community, in 2004 Michael started a nonprofit organization that was dedicated to supporting the youth and community of Palm Beach County. Michael has also been a school athletic coach for 17 years where he was able to mentor many student athletes towards their college goals.   

Michael is also passionate about creating and maintaining green spaces and recreational facilities for the community. He believes that parks and open spaces play a vital role in promoting physical and mental health, giving children and families other options to spend time and meet other families. This will also provide opportunities for families to come together and enjoy the beautiful outdoors of our community. Michael is committed to working with the community to identify areas in need of improvement and implementing solutions that benefit everyone.

 

Michael Hensley has a long history of community involvement in Palm Beach County and has dedicated his career to public service. As the safety liaison in his profession for the past 5 years, he understands the importance of public safety and will work to ensure that all residents feel safe and secure in their homes and neighborhoods.
